STOP BREAKING DOWN
Stop Breaking Down is the title of an interactive work made in Director and based on a series of stripped-back 1 bit video sequences. Using deliberatey lo-fi imagery and sound the work sought to engage the aesthetics of observation in a quasi narrative flow. Lone figures are pursued by an omniscient camera through an anonymously bleak urban landscape, actions accumulate and repeat. while the piece was conceived as essentially linear in form the viewer can interact with the moving image - ending loops, randomising colour and reversing action. The work was produced for the group show Junket which was curated by Jane Polkinghorne and shown at the ICBC, Instituto de Baja California, Tijuana Mexico from 6 August to 6 September 2004.
